Growth: $399/month (3 engines, 100 prompts)
Enterprise: Custom
Agency workspaces: $399/month each

Best for

Enterprise marketing teams at large organisations with compliance requirements, dedicated teams to act on insights, and budgets over $400/month

What Profound is

Profound is an enterprise GEO platform that tracks how brands appear in AI-generated answers and helps teams produce content to improve that presence. It frames itself as a “read/write” marketing platform: read covers visibility tracking, competitive intelligence, and citation analysis; write covers AI-optimised content generation and optimisation recommendations.

Profound has raised $58.5 million across three rounds, with investors including Khosla Ventures, Kleiner Perkins, NVIDIA, and Sequoia. Its customer list includes Ramp, Figma, DocuSign, MongoDB, Zapier, and G2 itself. G2 rated it 4.6/5 across 322 reviews as of June 2026 and named it a G2 Winter 2026 AEO Leader.

The platform differentiates on data quality. Its Conversation Explorer draws on 400M+ real user prompts rather than synthetic queries. SOC 2 Type II compliance, SSO, and dedicated strategist support signal who the primary customer is: marketing and data teams at large organisations.

What Profound tracks

AI visibility monitoring: Brand citation rate, share of voice, competitor positioning, and sentiment across ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews on the Growth plan. Full LLM coverage at Enterprise pricing.

Conversation Explorer: Access to 400M+ real user prompts organised by topic, category, and buying intent. This is the deepest prompt database in the category.

AI crawler analytics: Tracks how AI bots crawl your site, which pages they visit, how frequently, and for what purpose.

Content generation (Growth+): Profound generates AI-optimised content drafts and optimisation recommendations. Three articles per month on the Growth plan.

Enterprise features: SOC 2 Type II, SSO, role-based access, dedicated strategist support, API access.

Strengths

Deepest competitive intelligence. The Conversation Explorer’s 400M+ real user prompts gives research depth no other tool matches.

Content execution layer. Generates content alongside monitoring, keeping the insight-to-action cycle inside one platform.

Enterprise credentials. SOC 2 Type II, SSO, HIPAA at Enterprise level, and a customer list that includes DocuSign and MongoDB.

Real user prompt data. Draws on actual searches rather than synthetic prompts.

Limitations

The Starter plan is a demo. At $99/month, ChatGPT only, 50 prompts, no competitive tracking. Real functionality starts at $399/month.

Steep agency pricing. Full client workspaces cost $399/month each. An agency managing five clients pays over $2,000/month minimum.

Full LLM coverage requires Enterprise. Claude, Grok, Meta AI beyond the Growth plan’s three engines need Enterprise pricing.

Execution requires your team. Despite content generation, Profound does not run GEO optimisation for you.

VERDICT

Our verdict

Profound is the right tool for enterprises with compliance requirements, large marketing teams, and $400+ monthly budgets for AI visibility. The Conversation Explorer justifies the premium for any team that takes buyer intent research seriously.

For SMB and mid-market teams, the Growth plan at $399/month is twice the cost of Peec AI Pro for narrower engine coverage. If your procurement team requires SOC 2, if you need content generation built into your platform, or if the Conversation Explorer’s depth is worth paying for, Profound is the right choice.
